Abortion Hurts Women: San Francisco Walk for Life
January 3, 2009
This is the billboard Walk for Life put up at the San Francisco Bay Bridge approach. I say: awesome.
When I was in school teachers talked about abortion as if there was no more to be said. Roe v. Wade was all knowing. I think abortion is horrific. I think the “health of the mother” or incest or rape are weak excuses to keep abortions easily accessible and legal. There needs to be a better solution.
Abortion is not a contraceptive. The pill, condoms, abstinence: these are forms of birth control. Forms which do not have adverse psychological effects for the women and men involved.
From the Walk for Life press release:
“San Francisco is a beautiful city but there is a lot of sadness beneath the surface–until recently we had more abortions than live births, and a high percentage of our population has experienced abortion,” Ms. Muntean said. “We need to reach those women (and men) who are hurting, and this seemed like the most effective method.”
The billboard is located at Fourth and Bryant Streets in San Francisco. The Bay Bridge carries approximately 270,000 cars a day, according to state Department of Transportation statistics.
